Eileen Tull has a deep appreciation for Emilie Du Châtelet as a character and as a historical figure in Jyl Bonaguro’s play Urania. She respects how Emilie goes after what she desires whether it be her love life or her scholarship work. The script for Urania in turn allowed Eileen Tull to realize this determined woman in a variety of ways. The shakespearian styled script for Urania contains few stage directions and Eileen and her background in comedy was able to create a huge playground for herself and the actors to run around on and create their own story.
Eileen Tull recently moved back to Chicago, after living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area and her hometown of Cincinnati for three years.
In Chicago, her work has been seen with Theatre Seven of Chicago, Prologue Theatre, Dream Theatre, 20% Theatre Company, InnateVolution Theatre Productions, The Abbie Hoffman Festival, Casa Duno, Open Source Theatre Project, and Pride Films and Plays. She also performs stand-up comedy and one woman shows throughout the country, most recently in New York City at the United Solo Festival, Tampa at the New Seeds Festival and Chicago Fringe Festival.
She is a proud graduate of Loyola University of Chicago, and she has also studied with Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, the Second City, and renowned author Julia Cameron. www.eileentull.com
